Unit 2 Reflection Questions

1. Do you think humans will need to move to another planet?  Why or why not?

ASW: I don't think humans need to move to any other planet. our planet, the earth, has so enough rooms that it could fit all of us. In addition, the earth has what we need for surviving. I see that instead of thing to leave our home and spent too much money on the habitability of a dead planet, it would be better for us to direct our efforts toward improving our planet to be better place.

2. If it does happen that some humans move to another planet, would you volunteer to go?  Why or why not?

ASW: certainly, I will go, but just to see how other planets look like and have some new experiences for couple of days and then get back to my very beautiful home, the earth.

3.  Read this article about people who have signed up to move to Mars: http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/09/tech/innovation/mars-one-applications/index.html  What is your reaction to this story?

ASW: My reaction to this story is that I see it is not rational at all. Canning themselves in desert where staying alive is not guaranteed for very long time and just for interest is suicide itself. It sounds like they have signed to buy a metal coffin in a place that is located too far from their families. How selfish they are!!

4. What do you think Ray Bradbury wanted the readers of "All Summer in a Day" to understand?  What did you think after reading this story?

ASW: I think he tried to indirectly say "save the the life before it is too late". After reading this story I'm willing to say that the life is precious, meaningful and do not deserve what we do against.

    1. Thanks Majid for commenting,

I got your point. The only one thing I hope you do is to think practically. let your feelings and dreams take a rest. it the time for our minds to work.

  2. Okay, we have the same opinion about Q3 and Q4~ It's so funny to use metal coffin for uncertain space travel! But now I am thinking it is some kind of humanity, even it sounds like ignorant bravery.

    1. I appreciate you commented Xiaoxiang,

Yes, we do. what I'm trying to say is that I'm not against the scientists who are working hard to make sure whether there is any hope for peopling other planets. My problem is that I see it is not a beneficial way to exile some people to where there is no any chance to get back.

  3. Hi Ghdeer I think it will be a good experience to see other planets, but if they asked you to go as a volunteer without returning to the earth forever do you go?
